About the Body Code
What is the Body Code?
The Body Code is an energy-wellness method created by Dr. Bradley Nelson. It uses muscle testing to gently locate imbalances the body may be holding—trapped emotions, energetic blocks, and more—so they can be released and the body can return to a sense of balance.
Practitioners look at six main categories of imbalance: energies, circuits and systems, toxins, pathogens, misalignments, and nutrition and lifestyle. The goal is simple—support your body's own ability to feel clear and well.

A common question
Why do people choose the Body Code over approaches like EMDR?
EMDR is a well-established, research-backed talk therapy for trauma that works with the conscious mind—a person recalls a difficult memory while the therapist guides bilateral stimulation, such as side-to-side eye movements, to help the brain reprocess it.
The reason many people are drawn to the Body Code is different in approach. Practitioners use muscle testing to connect directly with the subconscious, which means you don't have to consciously remember, describe, or relive a painful event for it to be identified and released. For people who find talking through their past overwhelming—or who feel stuck on things the conscious mind can't quite reach—that gentleness is the appeal.
The two aren't rivals. The Body Code is a complementary energy-wellness practice, not a replacement for medical or mental-health care, and many people use it alongside the support of their doctor or therapist.
